چکیده

In Japan, many concrete bridges along the coastline have suffered corrosion due to the chloride attack from seawater and airborne salt. Therefore, now, several researches on corroded RC structures have been ongoing around the world. Especially, as a basic research, many researchers have studied on the numerical and experimental method to evaluate static load resistant capacity of RC beams with corroded reinforcements. However, there has been almost no research to evaluate impact load resistant capacity. Of course, it is important that impact load resistant capacity is clarified, if the possibility of acting of impact load including in natural disaster on corroded RC structures is dealt with. With a background like this, this paper describes an experimental investigation of the structural behavior of corroded RC beams. To be precise, in this study, RC beams with corroded reinforcement by using electrolytic corrosion method were made, and both of static loading test and repeated impact test for those RC beams were conducted in order to clarify the static and impact load resistant capacity of them. As a result, we could get some findings. At first, through repeated impact tests (which has 1.0m/s impact velocity and a 100kg steel weight), the number of impacts to the failure of corroded RC beams were less than half of healthy RC beams. It was also found that fracture pattern was completely different due to some axial cracks by corrosion. In addition, even though the corrosion rate is same level, the impact load resistant capacity reduce greatly compared to the static load resistant capacity because of the existence and pattern of cracks due to corrosion.

Performance of Corrosion-Damaged HSC Beams Strengthened with GFRP Laminates

This paper presents the results of an experimental program conducted for evaluating the performance of corrosion damaged HSC beams strengthened with GFRP laminates. Five Beam specimens of size 150x250x3000 mm were caste and tested for the present investigation. One beam specimen was neither corroded nor strengthened to serve as reference. Two beams were corroded to serve as corroded control. A ...

Reliability Analysis of Corroded Reinforced Concrete Beams Using Enhanced HL-RF Method

Steel corrosion of bars in concrete structures is a complex process which leads to the reduction of the cross-section bars and decreasing the resistance of the concrete and steel materials. In this study, reliability analysis of a reinforced concrete beam with corrosion defects under the distributed load was investigated using the enhanced Hasofer-Lind and Rackwitz-Fiessler (EHL-RF) method base...

Strut-and-Tie Method for Prediction of Ultimate Shear Capacity of Shear-Strengthened RC deep beams with FRP

The main objective of this study is to propose the Strut-and-Tie method (STM) to predict the shear capacity of simply supported RC deep beams shear-strengthened with carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP). It is assumed that, the total carried shear force by shear-strengthened RC deep beam provided by three independent resistance, namely diagonal concrete strut due to Strut-and-tie mechanism, ...

Adaptive Neural Fuzzy Inference System Models for Predicting the Shear Strength of Reinforced Concrete Deep Beams

A reinforced concrete member in which the total span or shear span is especially small in relation to its depth is called a deep beam. In this study, a new approach based on the Adaptive Neural Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) is used to predict the shear strength of reinforced concrete (RC) deep beams. A constitutive relationship was obtained correlating the ultimate load with seven mechanical a...
